[Solved] DynamicGroupController updating members issue
CrilleC
Edit: Solved in latest-26221. Bare-metal latest-26193 I have this group: "OKforLarm": name: OK för Larm select: - include_controller: vera - include_capability: door_sensor filter_expression: entity.attributes.door_sensor.state It contains the entities I expect but behaves a bit odd. When I open vera>device_10097 the entity attribute door_sensor.state changes to true but it won't show up as member in the group, when I also open vera>device_10095 they both shows as members and when I close vera>device_10095 it disappear from the group but when I close vera>device_10097 it lingers in the group until I restart Reactor.

Reactor (Multi-System/Multi-Hub) Announcements

Build 21228 has been released. Docker images available from DockerHub as usual, and bare-metal packages here. Home Assistant up to version 2021.8.6 supported; the online version of the manual will now state the current supported versions; Fix an error in OWMWeatherController that could cause it to stop updating; Unify the approach to entity filtering on all hub interface classes (controllers); this works for device entities only; it may be extended to other entities later; Improve error detail in messages for EzloController during auth phase; Add isRuleSet() and isRuleEnabled() functions to expressions extensions; Implement set action for lock and passage capabilities (makes them more easily scriptable in some cases); Fix a place in the UI where 24-hour time was not being displayed.

DynamicGroupController and attributes
therealdbT
Hey @toggledbits I'm back to trying to optimize a couple of things based on dynamic group. First of all, I think I found a typo in the doc: primary_attribute: "binary_sensor.state" primary_attribute_value: | d = false; each id in members: d = getEntity(id)?.attributes?.power_switch?.state or d, d I think the correct code snippet is d = false, All that said, my use case for dynamic groups is to group 3 different climate devices, so I could easily command them at the same time. Commands are good, but sometimes I want to check if any of the devices are on, and that's easily done with a similar snippet as the one you have in the docs. But this is limited to the primary attribute, while I want to have any of the attributes in the group to be driven by a similar logic (while all are null in the group). ie, access hvac_control.mode and see if any of the unit is set to cool, or heat. Is that possible, without re-defining an expression in each of my rules? Thanks!

[MSR] Copy&past of actions and/or drag&drop between set/reset
therealdbT
Hey @toggledbits One thing that bothers me while doing work on new systems/new features, is that I cannot copy&paste actions, and I cannot drag&drop between set and resets. #1 is for when I want to copy an action between different rules opened in two separate browser windows, while #2 is when I just need to flip a bunch of actions in the reset, or move some logic back and forth. Both will be appreciated, but I understand the technical challenges. Thanks!

Upgrade advice - upgrade from aarch64 to ARM64 image
T
I'm currently on version 26011. I understand that the aarch64 image is no longer supported. So, I therefore need to update to the ARM64 image. Can anyone possibly suggest how I update my docker compose.yaml file (see below). Ideally I'd like to keep my existing reactions etc. rather than start from scratch. # Multi-System Reactor template docker-compose.yml (version 22160) # # Change the lines indicated by "DO"... # services: reactor: container_name: reactor environment: # DO change the TZ: line to set your local time zone. # See valid TZ list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tz_database_time_zones TZ: GB # # DO NOT change this path. Deprecation Announcement: 32-bit ARM *docker* images
toggledbitsT
If you are using the armv7l docker image, the OpenJS Foundation that publishes node is no longer producing 32-bit builds as of v24. That means the last supported LTS version of node for armv7l is v22, which will go End-of-Life in May 2027. Therefore, the Reactor armv7l image is now deprecated and will only be produced until node v22 goes EOL, and I will not publish armv7l images beyond that date. If you are running an RPi 3 or earlier with Reactor, you are on this image, and will need to upgrade hardware to a 64-bit model and use the arm64 image. If you need help getting it done, ask in this category.

http request action & digest auth

I’m using the HTTP Request action in MSR and need to authenticate against an endpoint that uses HTTP Digest authentication. Now that endpoint was changed to use SHA-256 in digest auth, so I would like to know if MSR supports it, or is it limited to MD5-based digest auth?

    Yes, will happen. It raises priority on another "to-do" item for the parser, which has rather "blunt" string lexing at the moment. I've got a more formal version working now, but I want to play with it a little more before I commit it to MSR.

        @toggledbits I can't seem to concoct a meaningful example of DO .. DONE, since I'm probably not grasping its intended function within the MSR framework.
        Does it have a use here, and if so, how would such a statement look? Thanks!

          do...done is intended to help the first and each statements (but can be used anywhere, really).

          1. the each and first statements operate only on a single expression;
          2. do...done encapsulates multiple expressions (separated by comma), but looks like a single expression to each and first;
          3. The result of a do...done statement is the value of the last expression executed within it.

          Here from my own configuration is an example:

          each detector in leak_detectors:
          do
            d=getEntity(detector),
            d.attributes.arming.state && d.attributes.binary_sensor.state ? d.id : null
          done

          There's a separate expression called leak_detectors that provides an array of leak detector entity IDs (canonical, across controllers, of course). The each statement iterates over each of them. The do...done encapsulates two expressions: the fetch of the entity stored to a local variable in the first, and then uses that local variable twice in the second expression. The result of the do...done is the result of the last expression, which is the detector's ID if it is armed and tripped, or null otherwise. With an each expression, any nulls do not appear in the final array.

          The idea should be familiar from RFV, although the construction is a little different: it's a loop over a list of known leak detectors and builds an array of those that are armed and in alarm (if any, hopefully not).

            For a lark, I defined a test variable as:

            testObj = { a:5, b:2, c:"cat"},
            each num in values(testObj):
            r = isNaN(num) ? " That's all!" : "Libra owns " + num + " cats"

            which spits out:

             ["Libra owns 5 cats","Libra owns 2 cats","Libra owns cat cats"]

            while I had actually expected (due to the NaN:

             ["Libra owns 5 cats","Libra owns 2 cats"," That's all!"]

            Also, am noticing that the Expression 'value' windows always contract to their initial (1.25-line tall) height, rather than remember what the user enlarged them to.

            Are both of these "expected behaviors" in MSR??

              The isNaN() is a yes... unlike JavaScript, the lexpjs isNaN() literally tests to see if the argument is NaN, which "cat" is not. You'd need to write your test as r = isNaN( int( num ) ) ? ...etc.

              I can't store your selected/custom field sizes. I haven't poked harder into getting it to auto-size. I've done that before, but for some reason it isn't working and I haven't bothered to track it down yet.

                I'm back with another whopper. Variables allow multiple comma-separated statements, like:

                b = 3, c = b + 2 // yields 5

                but go bonkers when you try:

                testArr = [1,2,3], testArr[1] = 5 // parsing error (similar result with Objects)

                By design?

                  Yes, assignment to simple variables only; the left side of an assignment can only be an identifier (right now).

                    This one's got me stumped now:
                    testCalc =

                    each num in [4,5,6]:
                    do
                    [num, num+1, num+2]
                    done

                    yields:
                    [[4,5,6],[4,5,6],[4,5,6]]
                    instead of:
                    [[4,5,6],[5,6,7],[6,7,8]]

                    Or have I stumbled again? (I do realize the DO..DONE is a red herring, but removing it doesn't change the result.)

                      Nope, that's clearly wrong. Not hard to fix. I found a spot where the executive was rewriting a variable rather than returning a copy, specific to arrays, so this particular test would hit it, any other data type would not. Good catch!

                            testStr = [  "cat", "  dog", "idle  ", "  jump  "  ],
                            trim(testStr)

                            // result = (string) "cat, dog,idle , jump"
                            // note (a) the lopsided leftover spaces, (b) concatenation into a single string, (c) type coercion into String
                            // unsure whether trim() ought even accept Array as input?

                              Meanwhile, this expression is returning the original string when I actually use a Regex as the "split" term:

                              testStr = "Th3 sw1ft br0wn c4t!",
                              split (testStr,"1",2)

                              // returns ["Th3 sw","ft br0wn c4t!"]
                              // expected

                              testStr = "Th3 sw1ft br0wn c4t!",
                              split (testStr,"\d",2)

                              // returns ["Th3 sw1ft br0wn c4t!"]
                              // unexpected

                                Another to ponder:

                                testObj = {animal:"cat",planet:"earth",size:"big"},
                                k = keys(testObj),
                                each key in k:
                                v = testObj.key

                                produces an empty array [] rather than (the expected) ["cat","earth","big"]. (Won't parse at all using .[key] btw.)

                                  The correct syntax here is testObj[key]

                                  Basically, [] and . are nearly equivalent member accessors. In JavaScript and lexpjs you can, for example, use array.0 to refer to the first element of an array, same as array[0]. The difference between them is that the interior of [] can be an expression, where . must only have an identifier on its right-hand side. So when you testObj[key], it will use the value of key for the member access. It would also be the case that testObj.animal and testObj['animal'] are equivalent.

                                  Your earlier split (testStr,"\d",2) example doesn't work because "\d" is parsed as escape plus d, which is simply the letter d, which is not what you want. You want a literal backslash followed by a d, which would be the string "\\d" to get the RegExp character class for digits 0-9. This is also the way JavaScript would parse it and behave:

                                  > t="The quick brown f0x"
                                  'The quick brown f0x'
                                  > t.match( "\d" )
                                  null                      <---- No match!
                                  > t.match( "\\d" )
                                  [ '0', index: 17, input: 'The quick brown f0x', groups: undefined ]
                                  >

                                    Ah, typical of me not to have known the precise array['key'] syntax offhand.
                                    Yay, that variant works as advertised. (You were supposed to be out having fun today!)
                                    And thanks for the pro tip re: "slash"-escaping the right way.
                                    I was thrown off by this one working as expected (even without the double slash construct):

                                    testStr = "Does this work?",
                                    match(testStr,"\st")

                                    // yields " t"

                                      Fun!? I'm Clonezilla-ing everyone's desktops, and retiring my old Linux server that has served as the main NAS, moving the Synology into that role. Lots of services to move (which has been done over time, but the last-minute cut-overs for some things that couldn't), etc. Busy busy!

                                      The other example, "\s" is an unrecognized escape sequence so it's leaking it. I'll fix that. "\s" is what's required.

                                          This one is only funny because it's true:

                                          indexof=["indexOf(indexof,indexOf)!"],
                                          indexOf(indexof,"indexOf")!=indexof

                                          This one is just plain funny:

                                          HA={ha:'HA'},
                                          ha={HA:HA['ha']},
                                          HA={ha:ha.HA}

                                          Result: ["ha":"HA"] 😆

                                          And yet these are both uncharacteristically false?

                                          [[[]]]===[[[]]]
                                          [1]===[1]

                                          despite both sides having length 1 and being of the same Type?
                                          So is this (false); a bit surprising but that kinda makes sense with Objects...

                                          {a:1}=={a:1}

                                          Seriously though, I do have a slight concern about this evaluating to FALSE when it is axiomatically and mathematically TRUE:

                                          sin(1)/cos(1)==tan(1)
                                          // false, due to rounding in the 16th decimal place!
