[Solved] DynamicGroupController updating members issue
CrilleC
Edit: Solved in latest-26221. Bare-metal latest-26193 I have this group: "OKforLarm": name: OK för Larm select: - include_controller: vera - include_capability: door_sensor filter_expression: entity.attributes.door_sensor.state It contains the entities I expect but behaves a bit odd. When I open vera>device_10097 the entity attribute door_sensor.state changes to true but it won't show up as member in the group, when I also open vera>device_10095 they both shows as members and when I close vera>device_10095 it disappear from the group but when I close vera>device_10097 it lingers in the group until I restart Reactor.

Reactor (Multi-System/Multi-Hub) Announcements
toggledbitsT
Build 21228 has been released. Docker images available from DockerHub as usual, and bare-metal packages here. Home Assistant up to version 2021.8.6 supported; the online version of the manual will now state the current supported versions; Fix an error in OWMWeatherController that could cause it to stop updating; Unify the approach to entity filtering on all hub interface classes (controllers); this works for device entities only; it may be extended to other entities later; Improve error detail in messages for EzloController during auth phase; Add isRuleSet() and isRuleEnabled() functions to expressions extensions; Implement set action for lock and passage capabilities (makes them more easily scriptable in some cases); Fix a place in the UI where 24-hour time was not being displayed.

DynamicGroupController and attributes
therealdbT
Hey @toggledbits I'm back to trying to optimize a couple of things based on dynamic group. First of all, I think I found a typo in the doc: primary_attribute: "binary_sensor.state" primary_attribute_value: | d = false; each id in members: d = getEntity(id)?.attributes?.power_switch?.state or d, d I think the correct code snippet is d = false, All that said, my use case for dynamic groups is to group 3 different climate devices, so I could easily command them at the same time. Commands are good, but sometimes I want to check if any of the devices are on, and that's easily done with a similar snippet as the one you have in the docs. But this is limited to the primary attribute, while I want to have any of the attributes in the group to be driven by a similar logic (while all are null in the group). ie, access hvac_control.mode and see if any of the unit is set to cool, or heat. Is that possible, without re-defining an expression in each of my rules? Thanks!

[MSR] Copy&past of actions and/or drag&drop between set/reset
therealdbT
Hey @toggledbits One thing that bothers me while doing work on new systems/new features, is that I cannot copy&paste actions, and I cannot drag&drop between set and resets. #1 is for when I want to copy an action between different rules opened in two separate browser windows, while #2 is when I just need to flip a bunch of actions in the reset, or move some logic back and forth. Both will be appreciated, but I understand the technical challenges. Thanks!

Upgrade advice - upgrade from aarch64 to ARM64 image
T
I'm currently on version 26011. I understand that the aarch64 image is no longer supported. So, I therefore need to update to the ARM64 image. Can anyone possibly suggest how I update my docker compose.yaml file (see below). Ideally I'd like to keep my existing reactions etc. rather than start from scratch. # Multi-System Reactor template docker-compose.yml (version 22160) # # Change the lines indicated by "DO"... # services: reactor: container_name: reactor environment: # DO change the TZ: line to set your local time zone. # See valid TZ list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tz_database_time_zones TZ: GB # # DO NOT change this path. Deprecation Announcement: 32-bit ARM *docker* images
toggledbitsT
If you are using the armv7l docker image, the OpenJS Foundation that publishes node is no longer producing 32-bit builds as of v24. That means the last supported LTS version of node for armv7l is v22, which will go End-of-Life in May 2027. Therefore, the Reactor armv7l image is now deprecated and will only be produced until node v22 goes EOL, and I will not publish armv7l images beyond that date. If you are running an RPi 3 or earlier with Reactor, you are on this image, and will need to upgrade hardware to a 64-bit model and use the arm64 image. If you need help getting it done, ask in this category.

I’m using the HTTP Request action in MSR and need to authenticate against an endpoint that uses HTTP Digest authentication. Now that endpoint was changed to use SHA-256 in digest auth, so I would like to know if MSR supports it, or is it limited to MD5-based digest auth?

    Hi

I am looking to create a rule that will run its actions every x minutes whilst I have a particular light turned on.

As a test I created a rule with:

Trigger - Light is turned ON

Condition (Constraints) - Interval 1 minute

    adc31057-02e0-4e7f-a29a-633ca23e42d4-image.png

Action - Send a TTS that says "One Minute"

When I first turn on this light the rule then becomes true.

On the rules summary card it says its waiting for the next minute and I can see it flashing green every minute, so the interval timer appears to be working OK

    d465ef8a-8db1-4f38-ba03-403d0a1165e5-image.png

However the action "Set Reaction" is never run every minute as I wanted. In fact the action never ran at all and I never heard a TTS announcement.

I have either set this up completely wrong which is more than likely or its a bug ?

My end goal is to have a rule that runs some LUA code every 15 minutes when I turn on a particular light.

    Thanks

@cw-kid @cw-kid The Interval condition is an "old" way of doing what the "Pulse" output mode of condition options does better. For your purpose, you can have a single condition that checks if the light is on, and put it into pulse output mode under options, with repeats. The condition will produce true pulses while the light is on, and stay false when the light is off. The Reaction will run accordingly.

An interval cannot be used as a Constraint, at least, not like you've done it, because it naturally produces very short pulses (10 millisecond, in fact), so in order for your condition to work, the light would have to turn on during the 10ms pulse. Remember, constraints are only evaluated at the instant the trigger conditions attempt to set. If the constraints allowed the rule to run after the triggers became true previously, then they would not act like constraints and just act like more conditions in an AND group with the triggers.

FYI, the pulse mode output also produces 10ms pulses naturally, so they are very hard to see in the UI. You can stretch them out by wrapping the condition in a group with a "delay reset" option of 1-2 seconds (or however long you want to watch).

@toggledbits said in Intervals ? "Self Retriggering Timer" ?:

        Done that:

        55604903-ad3b-4dcb-bc24-275d33b0a1c5-image.png

I can see it pulsing on the rules summary card.

        37017dbc-a124-4e37-ace6-2ded9615156a-image.png

So the action should be run every time it pulses right ?

I've only heard the TTS once. So the action has only run once.

You also have a small bug? In the Pulse if you actually enter 0 in the box that says "seconds,
up to - times (0/blank=no limit)" and save the rule.

When you go back in to that area later the 0 has gone and its blank.

I know blank and 0 is the same thing, but as I'd manually entered a 0 in there I kind of expected it to still be there.

Not a big issue at all just thought I'd mention it.

No, you can't put the pulse in the Constraints either. You've got it backwards, and since the two conditions are the same, you don't need the Constraint at all, because pulse mode output has the built-in constraint you want: it only pulses when the condition test is true.

You should have a single trigger condition for your light entity is TRUE with pulse output configured. Constraints should be empty.

The removal of the zero on the option is intentional.

                @toggledbits

Seems to be working great at a 60 second repeat time. My LUA code placed directly in to the rules action is running every 60 seconds. I will try a repeat at every 15 minutes next which is what I actually wanted.

Only other thing that might be nice to see, is a count down timer shown on the rules summary card for the repeat time. It does show a count down timer currently for the pulse time only which I have set to 10 seconds.

                Many thanks.

Funny, I just submitted a "Feature Request" on the bug tracker for a timestamp next to each Global Reaction so you can know when it last ran. I hadn't thought of the utility of a countdown timer for its next programmed run. Seems helpful!

Well on this particular rule, If I glance at its summary card, I'd just like to see how long till the next repeat happens / the next time the LUA code in the action will be run.
