[Solved] DynamicGroupController updating members issue
CrilleC
Edit: Solved in latest-26221. Bare-metal latest-26193 I have this group: "OKforLarm": name: OK för Larm select: - include_controller: vera - include_capability: door_sensor filter_expression: entity.attributes.door_sensor.state It contains the entities I expect but behaves a bit odd. When I open vera>device_10097 the entity attribute door_sensor.state changes to true but it won't show up as member in the group, when I also open vera>device_10095 they both shows as members and when I close vera>device_10095 it disappear from the group but when I close vera>device_10097 it lingers in the group until I restart Reactor.

Reactor (Multi-System/Multi-Hub) Announcements
toggledbitsT
Build 21228 has been released. Docker images available from DockerHub as usual, and bare-metal packages here. Home Assistant up to version 2021.8.6 supported; the online version of the manual will now state the current supported versions; Fix an error in OWMWeatherController that could cause it to stop updating; Unify the approach to entity filtering on all hub interface classes (controllers); this works for device entities only; it may be extended to other entities later; Improve error detail in messages for EzloController during auth phase; Add isRuleSet() and isRuleEnabled() functions to expressions extensions; Implement set action for lock and passage capabilities (makes them more easily scriptable in some cases); Fix a place in the UI where 24-hour time was not being displayed.

DynamicGroupController and attributes
therealdbT
Hey @toggledbits I'm back to trying to optimize a couple of things based on dynamic group. First of all, I think I found a typo in the doc: primary_attribute: "binary_sensor.state" primary_attribute_value: | d = false; each id in members: d = getEntity(id)?.attributes?.power_switch?.state or d, d I think the correct code snippet is d = false, All that said, my use case for dynamic groups is to group 3 different climate devices, so I could easily command them at the same time. Commands are good, but sometimes I want to check if any of the devices are on, and that's easily done with a similar snippet as the one you have in the docs. But this is limited to the primary attribute, while I want to have any of the attributes in the group to be driven by a similar logic (while all are null in the group). ie, access hvac_control.mode and see if any of the unit is set to cool, or heat. Is that possible, without re-defining an expression in each of my rules? Thanks!

[MSR] Copy&past of actions and/or drag&drop between set/reset
therealdbT
Hey @toggledbits One thing that bothers me while doing work on new systems/new features, is that I cannot copy&paste actions, and I cannot drag&drop between set and resets. #1 is for when I want to copy an action between different rules opened in two separate browser windows, while #2 is when I just need to flip a bunch of actions in the reset, or move some logic back and forth. Both will be appreciated, but I understand the technical challenges. Thanks!

Upgrade advice - upgrade from aarch64 to ARM64 image
T
I'm currently on version 26011. I understand that the aarch64 image is no longer supported. So, I therefore need to update to the ARM64 image. Can anyone possibly suggest how I update my docker compose.yaml file (see below). Ideally I'd like to keep my existing reactions etc. rather than start from scratch. # Multi-System Reactor template docker-compose.yml (version 22160) # # Change the lines indicated by "DO"... # services: reactor: container_name: reactor environment: # DO change the TZ: line to set your local time zone. # See valid TZ list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tz_database_time_zones TZ: GB # # DO NOT change this path. Deprecation Announcement: 32-bit ARM *docker* images
toggledbitsT
If you are using the armv7l docker image, the OpenJS Foundation that publishes node is no longer producing 32-bit builds as of v24. That means the last supported LTS version of node for armv7l is v22, which will go End-of-Life in May 2027. Therefore, the Reactor armv7l image is now deprecated and will only be produced until node v22 goes EOL, and I will not publish armv7l images beyond that date. If you are running an RPi 3 or earlier with Reactor, you are on this image, and will need to upgrade hardware to a 64-bit model and use the arm64 image. If you need help getting it done, ask in this category.

http request action & digest auth

I’m using the HTTP Request action in MSR and need to authenticate against an endpoint that uses HTTP Digest authentication. Now that endpoint was changed to use SHA-256 in digest auth, so I would like to know if MSR supports it, or is it limited to MD5-based digest auth?

I looked in the tar.gz file on my desktop, and I'm not seeing the login.html in the reactorui directory. That seems the to be the source of the issue.

Oy. OK. Fresh build is now up.

    those reactions are hanging.

I'm running this in my house, not seeing any issues. The engine is the same for 24115 and userauth; they are completely in sync except for the required elements to support user authentication, which has nothing to do with reaction. Still, anything is possible, but I wouldn't be able to discern much without the usual rules still applying: when things aren't going as expected, look at the logs... follow the posting guidelines...

      @toggledbits,
Thanks for the updated version. I'll test it this evening after work.

I was only able to provide limited diagnostic information this morning before I headed to work. Reverting to 24115 latest version fixed the immediate issue of reactions not functioning, so everything would function normally while I was gone for the day.

If the reactions continue to hang with the revised version, I'll provide more detailed information and logs this evening.

@therealdb the fixed build I just put up (to include the missing HTML file) also includes a potential fix for VirtualEntityController to preserve attributes across upgrades. Let's see how it works out.

@toggledbits I have not done that yet. One step at a time 🙂 The Not found issue has been resolved with your latest build and Access Control is WAE. The Reactions issue I noted has also not reappeared.

I have noticed that the TOOLS>Restart Reactor button does not work and I see nothing in the logs whatsoever even after "elevator button-ing" it (press press press press press press press).

Make sure you've done a hard refresh on the browser to ensure that it has loaded all the latest files for the UI.

Failing that, hit F12 (usually) in your browser to open a Developer window, and then hit the Restart button and see if anything gets logged on the browser side.

Slow day at work. I was able to remote into my home server and installed the updated release. The login functions properly, and I'm not seeing the hanging reactions as I was this morning.

This is really great. Now I can securely access my reactor UI remotely if I have the need. The only thing that would make it better is 2FA, but this is a fantastic update.

When you reload the page, do you get any similar errors, specifically for /api/v1/systime? Is the time display in the page header correct (showing both host and browser times)?

@toggledbits no errors for /api/v1/systime and the browser time and system time are identical, perhaps a split second apart as they tick by.

@therealdb the fixed build I just put up (to include the missing HTML file) also includes a potential fix for VirtualEntityController to preserve attributes across upgrades. Let's see how it works out.

@toggledbits yep, it's working beautifully 🎉 time to delete some junky code I wrote for the occasion 🙂

Outstanding. I can apply the same type of fix to MQTTController, so I'll do that.

@toggledbits thanks for this feature! I sort of had to volunteer as a tester as I originally did a feature request for authentication support...

Anyway, seems to work nicely, although only about an hour of testing behind. Will keep you posted if anything unexpected comes up. You could update docs though:

"1. Copy the template users.yaml-dist from the dist-config distribution directory to your config directory."

--> "1. Copy the template users.yaml-dist from the /opt/reactor/dist-config distribution directory to your config directory. Rename it as users.yaml file."

(at least for me as a Docker user it wasn't immediately clear where to find this template)

well, I actually knew to rename this file, but it took a while to find that template (as I've used MSR container for years now and did not remember the location of dist-config)

Hi, I used Portainer to change the image from latest to userauth and it was easy and thanks for this update!

                                      current configuration:
                                      Synology NAS/Docker/Reactor (Multi-hub) userauth-24120-7745fb8d

                                      unexpected:
when I try to log in on http://10.0.0.1:8111/dashboard/ as admin:admin, I'm redirect to reactor http://10.0.0.1:8111/reactor/en-US/ and not to dashboard
This happens on Chrome and Edge

                                      Features/suggestion that I image:

                                      Guest user has access to:
all dashboard set to public (homescreen - all public group tile - all public single tile)

where group tile are rooms/hubs/virtual/weather on homescreen dashboard
and single tile are all the entities: devices/virtual devices/etc

Admin can use option on tile VISIBLE/HIDDEN icon by clicking on it.

If a tile is set to HIDDEN, all entities associated with it will also be hidden. Setting VISIBLE on specific entities will not be respected. Setting hidden on specific entities it will be not visible to guests.
                                      So Public means VISIBLE.

                                      imaging it:

                                      image.png

Not sure if others are experiencing the same, but with this build (userauth-24120-7745fb8d) if I go to Manual (i.e. http://reactor-ip:8111/docs/), it takes a very long time before search can be used as it stays in "initializing search" state. At least I haven't noticed the same with earlier releases. Browser is Chrome.

@toggledbits another thing noticed with this build is that deleting global reactions does not work.

                                          How to reproduce:

                                          1. create reaction
                                          2. delete it
                                          3. refresh browser
                                          4. reaction is back...
