Will Disabling a Controller Delete all Associated Entities?
-
Hey Patrick, I basically have no more use for my Vera with MSR since I have fully transferred everything to Home Assistant. I was planning on disabling the controller from the Reactor config but I before I do that I was wondering if Reactor will delete all the associated entities after a few days since they will be considered offline. I have some old Vera rules that I don't really use but just want them as back up, but if the entities will get deleted once I disable the controller I may not do so.

Reactor will not delete the entities for a disabled controller. The entity persistence for that controller will just remain frozen in time. You could start the controller any time later, and all those entities would be refreshed as if nothing had happened.
Now... what won't happen when the controller is disabled is that Reactor won't load those entities, so they will be "missing" as far as Rules and Reactions are concerned, and that will generate errors/warning triangles... unless those rules are disabled. If they are disabled, they are never evaluated and won't generate any errors.
If you like, I can also give you a manual procedure to find and back up those (VeraController) rules (and restore them later if you need them).

@toggledbits I do have the rules disabled and don’t foresee needing them in the future, so for now I’ll just disable the controller
