[Solved] DynamicGroupController updating members issue
CrilleC
Edit: Solved in latest-26221. Bare-metal latest-26193 I have this group: "OKforLarm": name: OK för Larm select: - include_controller: vera - include_capability: door_sensor filter_expression: entity.attributes.door_sensor.state It contains the entities I expect but behaves a bit odd. When I open vera>device_10097 the entity attribute door_sensor.state changes to true but it won't show up as member in the group, when I also open vera>device_10095 they both shows as members and when I close vera>device_10095 it disappear from the group but when I close vera>device_10097 it lingers in the group until I restart Reactor.

Reactor (Multi-System/Multi-Hub) Announcements
toggledbitsT
Build 21228 has been released. Docker images available from DockerHub as usual, and bare-metal packages here. Home Assistant up to version 2021.8.6 supported; the online version of the manual will now state the current supported versions; Fix an error in OWMWeatherController that could cause it to stop updating; Unify the approach to entity filtering on all hub interface classes (controllers); this works for device entities only; it may be extended to other entities later; Improve error detail in messages for EzloController during auth phase; Add isRuleSet() and isRuleEnabled() functions to expressions extensions; Implement set action for lock and passage capabilities (makes them more easily scriptable in some cases); Fix a place in the UI where 24-hour time was not being displayed.

DynamicGroupController and attributes
therealdbT
Hey @toggledbits I'm back to trying to optimize a couple of things based on dynamic group. First of all, I think I found a typo in the doc: primary_attribute: "binary_sensor.state" primary_attribute_value: | d = false; each id in members: d = getEntity(id)?.attributes?.power_switch?.state or d, d I think the correct code snippet is d = false, All that said, my use case for dynamic groups is to group 3 different climate devices, so I could easily command them at the same time. Commands are good, but sometimes I want to check if any of the devices are on, and that's easily done with a similar snippet as the one you have in the docs. But this is limited to the primary attribute, while I want to have any of the attributes in the group to be driven by a similar logic (while all are null in the group). ie, access hvac_control.mode and see if any of the unit is set to cool, or heat. Is that possible, without re-defining an expression in each of my rules? Thanks!

[MSR] Copy&past of actions and/or drag&drop between set/reset
therealdbT
Hey @toggledbits One thing that bothers me while doing work on new systems/new features, is that I cannot copy&paste actions, and I cannot drag&drop between set and resets. #1 is for when I want to copy an action between different rules opened in two separate browser windows, while #2 is when I just need to flip a bunch of actions in the reset, or move some logic back and forth. Both will be appreciated, but I understand the technical challenges. Thanks!

Upgrade advice - upgrade from aarch64 to ARM64 image
T
I'm currently on version 26011. I understand that the aarch64 image is no longer supported. So, I therefore need to update to the ARM64 image. Can anyone possibly suggest how I update my docker compose.yaml file (see below). Ideally I'd like to keep my existing reactions etc. rather than start from scratch. # Multi-System Reactor template docker-compose.yml (version 22160) # # Change the lines indicated by "DO"... # services: reactor: container_name: reactor environment: # DO change the TZ: line to set your local time zone. # See valid TZ list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tz_database_time_zones TZ: GB # # DO NOT change this path. Deprecation Announcement: 32-bit ARM *docker* images
toggledbitsT
If you are using the armv7l docker image, the OpenJS Foundation that publishes node is no longer producing 32-bit builds as of v24. That means the last supported LTS version of node for armv7l is v22, which will go End-of-Life in May 2027. Therefore, the Reactor armv7l image is now deprecated and will only be produced until node v22 goes EOL, and I will not publish armv7l images beyond that date. If you are running an RPi 3 or earlier with Reactor, you are on this image, and will need to upgrade hardware to a 64-bit model and use the arm64 image. If you need help getting it done, ask in this category.

http request action & digest auth

I’m using the HTTP Request action in MSR and need to authenticate against an endpoint that uses HTTP Digest authentication. Now that endpoint was changed to use SHA-256 in digest auth, so I would like to know if MSR supports it, or is it limited to MD5-based digest auth?

    Hello all and happy holidays! I recently picked up a Zooz ZSE70, an outdoor multi sensor with an light sensor. The goal was to have my outdoor lights trigger once it got dark enough.

    Today was the first day I was trialing my updated logic (screenshot below) soon after it got dark enough I observed the lights began to turn on and off every few seconds. Taking a look at the sensor history in HA it looks like once the light got below the threshold (35lx in my case) the lights would turn on great! However a few seconds later the sensor would update and the measured light would go above the threshold and the lights would turn off. After that the cycle would continually repeat every handful of seconds.

    I need to think of a way to trigger the rule, but ignore the spike in the reading once the lights turn on. I could pulse the trigger to remain true for an hour ish so that as the light naturally fades in the evening it hopefully remains under the threshold. However that's a less than elegant solution in my case, so any tips would be appreciated!

    One note: I cannot move the sensor so that the lights don't affect the readings.

    Screenshot 2025-12-23 at 5.59.24 PM.png

    Screenshot 2025-12-23 at 6.00.41 PM.png

    Note: in the screenshot above, at the ~3:53pm mark where the levels flatten out, it was because I disabled the rule.

      Back in the days I used an illuminance binary sensor to do this (linked to a fibaro relay), but now I’m using civil dawn/dusk and called it a day.

      All that said, I’m still using an illuminance sensor indoor in my office to drive my blinds.

      My logic is like the one you mentioned: once triggered, the low light state stays true for at least two hours. When driving lights/blinds, hysteresis is fundamental.

      I was toying with the idea of using a time series, so I could get let’s say a trend and/or the avg in the latest 15 minutes or so, but it seemed overkill for this simple situation.

        I have a local variable as trigger for cases like this. When lightsOn is true the rule sets.
        lightsOn =

        do
        lux = getEntity( "mosquitto-mqtt>rorelse_hallen" ).attributes.light_sensor.value,
        lights = getEntity( "mosquitto-mqtt>hallen1" ).attributes.power_switch.state,
        case
         when lux <= 17 : bool(true)
         when lights and lux >= 18 and lux <= 25 : bool(true)
         else bool(false)
        end
        done

          That sounds very clever @Crille !. Does the light level actually increase in your case? I'd have more expected it to be constant once the lights are on? @Pabla is there actually a spike, or is the sensor reading the (one would expect) increased light level? This is assuming the sensor is within the zone of the lights....

            @CatmanV2 This is from my hallway and the sensor is placed near a light source so the level goes up when lights are on. This is to handle cloudy days and the hallway is a bit dark and needs artificial light but when the sun finds its way in, the lights turn off.

              @Pabla I put a Condition on my rule:

              e232daa5-5daf-424b-b4a3-3764842afe66-image.png

              This prevents the flapping you're seeing. Essentially this says "ok, it's <=35lx - please wait :90 to ensure it persists."

              I use it for my temperatures and light levels in my Shared Rules ("It's too dark", It's too cold", etc.) In some cases the hold time is 300 seconds.

                @Crille this is a credible use case - I call it "Rainstormers" in my rules and it turns on a select couple of lights (not everything like Evening time) throughout the house.

                  Wow! Thank you all for the suggestions! I think setting a pulse to go true for one hour is going to be the dirty and quick solution.

                  @Crille your expression is actually pretty neat.. I think it may solve my issue completely. Will trial this tomorrow! 🙂

                    After spending some time I think I got it figured out. Thanks to @Crille for the Inspo expression. I created a similar one that would basically deduct the extra light that is added when the lights are on. Basically when the lights are off, the expression gives the true value of the light sensor, and when they're on it deducts the 30lx from the true value. 30lx is probably too much but It seems to work now. The sunrise/sunset trigger is just temporarily there to ensure the lights still turn on and off as back up.

                      After spending some time I think I got it figured out. Thanks to @Crille for the Inspo expression. I created a similar one that would basically deduct the extra light that is added when the lights are on. @Pabla AH, see, I pull my lx data in from the weather station array in my backyard. Hyper-local data. Covers the entire house, no matter the room.
