Energy and data collection and graphs

I'm working on influxdb/grafana integration for MSR. I'd be happy to look at hundredgraphs as well.

Using openLuup and Grafana, we already have a very nice visualization of the database option. I am not sure what this adds. Vera and ST are both kind of dead so...

@catmanv2 This is cloud. Basic account is free. Limited to 600 secs updates and 100 bursts per month.
Yes, we charge if you want to have more out of it, longer storage time, frequent updates, more bursts. But I think 600 sec updates is pretty good to have overall visibility for your energy graphs

I must admit this is one area in my HA set up that I’d like to work better, I’ve used the Node-Red dashboard, Grafana , but I’m currently using Thingspeak (https://thingspeak.com/ ) and graph_cli (https://github.com/mcastorina/graph-cli) - so nothing really ground breaking or visually stunning (sadly)

To be clear I'm not arguing your business case, simply stating what I recall from the Vera discussions. I have no issue with anyone that wants to go this route.

@catmanv2 Neither me. I am totally open in that. Who pays got the perks, the rest get a free ride, I think both sides are good. That's what usually happens with these cloud services.
And we are trying to get more to the freeside as well. Just introduced the last month the new feature for both paid and free plans.
We finally got the bursts, this is when we collect events on Vera (or SmartThings) side between uploads and then send them in the bunch. Before we were just running a script every ... secs, but that means if door was opened and closed again between updates you would never see it in the logs. Now you would. -

Speaking solely for myself, if I have data of any type that I wish to preserve/view/review, it's easiest for me just to send it to Google Spreadsheets (via a simple Form link) using MSR, where I can have charts, graphs, tables, whatever suits my needs. But understandably, most users will not want to "roll their own" in this fashion.
Always nice to have easy-to-setup alternative workflows.
