Logon screen timeout
G
Noticing since 170 that the lock screen doesn't switch to the logon prompt but, rather, stays on the active UI until such time as you go to click something within it. Then it jumps to the login screen. Brave browser Brave 1.92.139 (Official Build) (arm64) Chromium: 150.0.7871.114

Reactor (Multi-System/Multi-Hub) Announcements
toggledbitsT
Build 21228 has been released. Docker images available from DockerHub as usual, and bare-metal packages here. Home Assistant up to version 2021.8.6 supported; the online version of the manual will now state the current supported versions; Fix an error in OWMWeatherController that could cause it to stop updating; Unify the approach to entity filtering on all hub interface classes (controllers); this works for device entities only; it may be extended to other entities later; Improve error detail in messages for EzloController during auth phase; Add isRuleSet() and isRuleEnabled() functions to expressions extensions; Implement set action for lock and passage capabilities (makes them more easily scriptable in some cases); Fix a place in the UI where 24-hour time was not being displayed.

[MSR] Copy&past of actions and/or drag&drop between set/reset
therealdbT
Hey @toggledbits One thing that bothers me while doing work on new systems/new features, is that I cannot copy&paste actions, and I cannot drag&drop between set and resets. #1 is for when I want to copy an action between different rules opened in two separate browser windows, while #2 is when I just need to flip a bunch of actions in the reset, or move some logic back and forth. Both will be appreciated, but I understand the technical challenges. Thanks!

Upgrade advice - upgrade from aarch64 to ARM64 image
T
I'm currently on version 26011. I understand that the aarch64 image is no longer supported. So, I therefore need to update to the ARM64 image. Can anyone possibly suggest how I update my docker compose.yaml file (see below). Ideally I'd like to keep my existing reactions etc. rather than start from scratch. # Multi-System Reactor template docker-compose.yml (version 22160) # # Change the lines indicated by "DO"... # services: reactor: container_name: reactor environment: # DO change the TZ: line to set your local time zone. # See valid TZ list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tz_database_time_zones TZ: GB # # DO NOT change this path. Your directory location is in "source" below. REACTOR_DATA_PREFIX: /var/reactor # DO change the image below to the one you are using (e.g. armv7l or aarch64 for RPi 4) image: toggledbits/reactor:latest-aarch64 restart: "always" expose: - 8111 ports: - 8111:8111 volumes: # DO change the /home/username/reactor below to the directory you created for # your local data; DO NOT change the /var/reactor part - /home/pi/docker/reactor:/var/reactor - /etc/localtime:/etc/localtime:ro tmpfs: /tmp

Deprecation Announcement: 32-bit ARM *docker* images
toggledbitsT
If you are using the armv7l docker image, the OpenJS Foundation that publishes node is no longer producing 32-bit builds as of v24. That means the last supported LTS version of node for armv7l is v22, which will go End-of-Life in May 2027. Therefore, the Reactor armv7l image is now deprecated and will only be produced until node v22 goes EOL, and I will not publish armv7l images beyond that date. If you are running an RPi 3 or earlier with Reactor, you are on this image, and will need to upgrade hardware to a 64-bit model and use the arm64 image. If you need help getting it done, ask in this category.

http request action & digest auth
tunnusT
I’m using the HTTP Request action in MSR and need to authenticate against an endpoint that uses HTTP Digest authentication. Now that endpoint was changed to use SHA-256 in digest auth, so I would like to know if MSR supports it, or is it limited to MD5-based digest auth?

Integrations and 'Loaded'
CatmanV2C
Thanks again for the recent release. One thing I wanted to ask about integrations and their 'loaded' condition: Is there something similar that applies to the entire controller? So if I have (for example) a helper in HA that is used to trigger an automation in MSR, is it possible to effectively exclude it until MSR is 'happy' that HA is stable and its values can be trusted? This, actually goes back to the issue I had. I've got a use case where a 30 second delay from triggering is a bit of a PITA (sustained for...) and was just wondering if there's a way of knowing that 'native' HA functions are working correctly. Probably asking wrong, or it's hideously obvious, but... TIA C

Possible mismatch between binary_sensor in HA and MSR
CatmanV2C
Hi. First off this is an unsupported version of HS 2026.5.2 so happy to be told it's that. Currently running latest-26130-3d2a489a on a Debian Buster bare metal VM. I've been working on moving away from OpenLuup completely and up until now have been using some virtual switches t manage things like 'Is there anyone home' I have a binary sensor in HA that provides the same thing binary_sensor.someone_home which appears in MSR as hass>binary_sensor_someone_home HA shows on or off. MSR shows true or false All fine. The odd thing happened after an update of HA and a restart. From HA 13:07:04 it turned off 13:07:11 it turned on However that does not appear to have been reflected in MSR which turned all the heating and so on off as it is supposed to do, and I got all my notifications as I should. Here's a huge log section (sorry) as I wanted to show how MSR identifies that HA is up and running at 12:07:08 (Zulu) but triggers the 'There's no one here' at 12:07:17 some 6 seconds after HA updated to on. Checking in the interface MSR said the status was 'False' while HA stated 'On' I tried to create a Schedule to turn my lounge lamps on 40 minutes before Sunset.

But it didn't run and the lights didn't come on.

This screen shot is now, well after sunset time.

In the reactor.yaml file I have the lat / long :

Not sure if I have done something wrong or if there is a potential problem ?

Maybe I've got too many digits. I've change them to these off another website:

    5f6f5596-1ad4-4d56-9aaa-72571debf4db-image.png

Will see what happens tomorrow ?

EDIT just noticed it was set for 40 minutes after sunset.

Had to use -40 and it says before sunset now, maybe that was the problem then.

    Thanks

The offsets for sunrise/sunset can add a little confusion in the context of "before" and "after" operators on the conditions. This is in the docs, but to reiterate here, for time-only conditions (like sunrise/sunset, and date/time with only time components):

      before <time> -- will be true between midnight and time (changes to false at time);
after <time> -- will be true between time and midnight (changes to false at midnight).

Remember that action takes place on changes, which is why "after <time>" is equivalent to "at <time>", but improved by the fact that if the system is down at <time>, when it comes back up, the condition will then be satisfied and the missed action performed.

Now, with respect to sunrise/sunset, if you want the lights on at 30 minutes after sunset, thats "after sunset + 30". If you want the lights on from 30 minutes before sunset (so from 30 before sunset to midnight), that's "after sunset - 30".

        Yeah my bad.

I selected "before" and added in 40 and thought that would be 40 minutes before sunset and I didn't look at it closer in the first screen shot, what you call that area? the rule summary.

When I did notice it, I change it to -40 and now it says: Sunrise/Sunset: until 40 minutes before sunset

Interestingly I can edit that offset minutes field and insert the minus or remove the minus and save the rule OK. i.e save a rule I have just modified.

But I cannot save a rule if I make other edits, like adding a whole new trigger as just discussed.

Sorry, but I'm just not able to reproduce this. I've just gone through every field on every condition type and every option. No joy. Maybe there's something broken in your rule otherwise behind the scenes that's making it choke. Let's do this... Go into the install directory, and do:

          tar czf storage.taz storage/

The attach that file to a comment in the bug tracker.

Its not just me reporting the issue though. I know I am good at finding bugs however haha...

            So what am I doing?

I ran that command in putty on the Pi

Also I have seen this saving problem on more than just one rule.

I've seen in on a few rules when either adding items like additional triggers or removing items.

Then you cannot click either of the two save buttons.

Only the red exit w/o saving button works.

It doesn't matter who is reporting the issue if I can't reproduce it myself without more information. One of the bugs you are connecting to this was entered by me days ago and was reproduced, found and fixed. The other is from a user on a mobile/Android browser which is currently not supported. I don't know how many people are using this thing right now, but you are the only one reporting no save conditions in the absence of an error indication on any field.

I have been able to possibly reproduce your saving issue. I have noticed with rules that have a Date/Time After Trigger cannot be modified and saved.

Actually any time I manually turn off the lounge lamps via my Harmony remote it's now firing the MSR rule and turning them back on.

@toggledbits as I said your welcome to connect to my laptop and edit the rules for yourself and press a save button to see what happens.

I was also the one who had issues saving PLEG changes many years ago and Richard eventually got to the bottom of it and managed to sort out the issue.

Maybe I have bad luck, but I cannot currently save any MSR rules I modify by adding new triggers or deleting them.

I am only reporting what I am seeing.

I think there might be something going on with sunrise/sunset too. Im pretty sure sunset was 90 minutes late triggering for me. Im doing some more testing on that though to confirm.

If your rule is the same as posted above, this is because you have a condition in the rule for the lamp being false, meaning the rule will be false when the lamp is on and then when it goes off, it becomes true again.

I'm not saying my rule is correct.

                              It most likely isn't

I wanted to include a check that the turn on lamps rule is only run if the lamps are off in the first place.

If the lamps are already on then there's no need to have the rule action run.

So if I've set it up wrong what is the best way to handle this

                              I am a Reactor newbie..

                              Thanks.

You need to use the constraints. These are new and Im not exactly positive on the answer at this time but I think you would check if the lights are off in the constraint.

OK thanks. I was advised not to use Contraints whilst learning MSR.

Seems I have a learning curve to get over and I apologise for being a pain in the arse for the next few months to everyone in this forum.. 😁

Stop thinking PLEG......It will only frustrate you especially if you are trying to test the status of a device.
I'm not sure if you can actually do it as you would in PLEG, yes, I know it's frustrating but to move forward you need to unlearn what you already know.

Make sure you upgrade to 21050 if you haven't already.

I have the same issue using a different web browser Microsoft Edge. I added a new trigger to an existing rule and the save buttons aren't clickable.

Are there any instructions on how to upgrade to the new version of Reactor for Raspberry Pi ?

                                        Thank you
