Hubitat and virtual devices
-
Hi Everyone,
I setup a Hubitat device for the first time tonight. The MSR/Hubitat documentation was easy to follow, and it appears to have connected hassle free to MSR.
Under the Hubitat entities list I see:
A Hubitat Elevation system
hubitat
Mode
Safety Monitor
(I do get a last modified stamp and green activity flash when the hub reboots)I do not have any physical devices on the hub yet, so I added a few virtual devices to do some testing.
Should virtual devices show up in entities?
Thanks,
Mike -
One of the weaknesses of Hubitat is that you have to tell it, on the Maker API app page, what devices are visible through the API. That means every time you add or create a device, you have to go to the Maker API and publish it.

Thanks guys,
Yep, @toggledbits, I went to the Maker API app after device creation and selected the devices, but they were not selected when I went back there today. I reselected the devices, restarted MSR, and everything is as expected. Looking at the interface, I think I missed hitting the update button before I left the page.
Ok, back to messing around.
Thanks again

@toggledbits Yes it is but its just to toggle all off and then on so it goes quite fast.. But in Hubitat dashboard its the same thing. Because if you have all devices enabled for a dashboard it loads slower. Then they have made it so you can enable the ones you want in a dashboard. This really sucks when you make dashboard with a lot of specific devices.
