Thanks. I've got a new 6TB drive coming in a couple of days (I tried an enterprise level disc I had snagged from the office on an off chance, and it was fine) so I've got a 50% uplift on my storage. The two VMs that are running are noticeably snappier on VMs than on Pis, which is nice. Particularly when browsing 9k music tracks, which now takes a couple of seconds rather than the Pi's 20ish

Once the drive upgrade is in place, I'm not quite sure where to go next. Just bite the bullet and try and connect the Zway stick straight into the VM. Try it with a new Zway stick for experimentation, or do something else.

I'm far more comfortable now, though. I have snapshots and OVA images and everything!

    OK here's a useful resource:

    The Synology RAM megathread II

With a linked sheet of all results that people have entered.

Despite the thread I originally found, no one has got that particular RAM to work on the sheet. There's another Crucial item:
    CCT16G4SFD824A

Which has 10 reports of working in the 224+

Return initiated, new RAM arriving tomorrow. £10 more expensive so £35.

<edit> New RAM in and booted fine. Takes a little longer to come up (I assume it takes a bit longer to check 18G of RAM than 2G 🙂 I think I'll start another thread about how I'm going to do this.

Apologies for the delay. Unless you've done some vlanning, those two networks cannot see each other directly so they must be communicating via China. Unless I'm missing something!

Have you asked the wife? Mine likes to randomly turn lights on (never off!) just to get me confused 😁

what kind of things do you need to send the USB port? because that's achievable with any language, and that's possibile with a Powershell script, to start with. but I think Excel VBA is not the right tool for the job and it's not easy to drive something from it.

    Hi there.

'Best', of course, is subjective. What are your needs/wants really?

Also, what type of IT infrastructure do you have, or are you used to? Apple, PC, Linux, ...?

Lots of choice, to be sure.

Just to close this off, new unit installed today and we now have IR back up and running. Even more remarkably despite having to reconfigure my TV activity from scratch in the Harmony app, both Alexa and HASS appear to have managed to remain functional.
Logitech were always the bees knees for Universal remote products but at some point they will turn the servers off 😞
No apology needed for the Hijack. I'm off to look!

It’s a smart idea to use a smart plug to reset your Ecobee remotely. However, the high temperatures in the attic (up to 135°F) are definitely a concern since many smart plugs aren’t rated for that heat. Unfortunately, Wyze and Lutron Caseta don’t offer in-wall smart plugs that are rated for those temps. You might want to look into industrial-grade smart plugs that can handle extreme conditions, or maybe relocate the smart plug to a cooler spot near the attic access, if possible. Kasa makes some Wi-Fi-based options rated up to 104°F, but you'd need to confirm if they can handle brief periods of higher heat. Be sure to double-check the specs to ensure safety and longevity.

@sidmsmith said in Expression Evaluation - Last Seen Date/Time:

If I don't hear back within a few days, I will go ahead and update this as Solved.

your solution is correct. This code will give you the ability to use it in notifications (ie: Door left open for 5 minutes) or when you want to do things programmatically (ie: house is away since 12 hours, do that, 18 hours, do this, etc).
