GE/Jasco Z-wave wall switch

Hey guys...
Is it just me or the GE/Jasco switch or very sensible to power outage ?
Almost each time we have a power outage, I need to replace at least 1 switch to replace.
Each time, same behaviour, the blue led is flashing rapidely and nothing works.
Last power outage, I got 3 switches. 95% of our switch and dimmer are GE/Jasco.

I got rid of all my GE wall switches a while ago due to the lack of instant status implementation and moved to Cooper and Leviton. I know at one point GE got instant status but I never tried another one. If I was to buy another one today, I would probably try the inovellis...
I would suspect that beyond the power outage itself, you may have a power surge. Maybe install a whole hour surge protector? -

Their internal design may not be as robust towards power surge? There has been so many models over the years, it is hard to know.

I just looked at inovelli and they charge 20$ for shipping in Canada

hmm maybe zooz then? I would definitely go with something with S2 these days.

I got some answer from GE/Jasco! Their "version 1" of the dimmer/switch got an issue with the relay and they are replacing them! I should got 4 next week to replace them!

One of my GE/JASCO 12729 in-wall toggle switches developed the dreaded "air gap clicking" issue that others have described. In my case - although New Orleans has endless power outages and a recent hurricane which left us without electricity for a week - the problem seems to have been prompted by my sliding of the air gap switch during Halloween (so that my porch lights remained off).
The good news is that it only took a single, 5-minute phone call to the JASCO tech support number to request a replacement, which they are sending me at no charge. I simply had to provide them my shipping/contact info and a photo of the currently installed device, plus proof of purchase (thanks, Amazon). The rep didn't care that the switch in question dates from 2017. Now that's service!
I feel the newer generation of Enlighten switches is more reliable and easier to install (smaller form factor), so I have no qualms about continuing to use them. But if this scary-sounding "click" comes up again, I will shop elsewhere. I don't like the sound of something arcing (for lack of a better analogy) inside the walls of my home.

@librasun This is great to know. I have a box of these switches that failed from power outages. In each case, it seems a capacitor failed after power was turned back on, at least as far as I could tell from looking at the swollen cases. I didn't measure microfarads though as I did not want to start unsoldering components...
Will they take back switches without a receipt as some of mine are ancient?

I am pretty sure they are not terribly strict about the documentation you show them, since these switches don't have serial numbers. So if you have some most recent receipt still available, which lots of online vendors will provide you, I think you would be okay.

Ugh. I've had a few of my Gen 1 switches go out. All over 2 years old and I assumed all would not be under any warranty. I had a friend replace the caps in most of them and put them back into service. I wish I had called GE after my 5th or 6th switch went out. Would have been able to get an upgrade.

I had one of my ZW+ switches go out on my over the weekend. Called Jasco in Atlanta and learned that they extended the warranty to 5 years. I have 3 new switches coming my way. Wish I knew this 7 or 8 switches ago that went to eWaste.
