Backup

Hello Everyone -
Can someone point me in the proper direction of doing a Vera (Secure) backup?
Specifically, I'm worried about a controller failure and unable to source a new one where I could just use the included backup facilities.
I'm considering staying on Vera a little longer to see what happens with Ezlo (especially around easy migrations).
I know I can manually run backups from the UI but wondering if there's a more "standard" method that would allow me to move to another platform if required. This would require me to pull my (important definition, I feel. This shouldn't be a secret) encryption key off of the Vera as part of the backup - so any pointers there would be helpful as well.

This sound like such a simple thing yet it is quite a convoluted process.
For Zigbee, it is nearly impossible because it requires spoofing the zigbee MAC address of the original zigbee radio.
I suppose you are really looking for the z-wave part of it.
I would suggest you read my migration method from vera to z-way which contains the method to migrate first the vera zwave chip data to another zwave chip (through any usb zwave stick). You can then run the vera on the stick itself for as long as you want and when you want to migrate, you will be able to do so by just moving the stick to a new controller. The process is described here.
The access to the security key is then described here
These are all contained in the vera backup of course and could be extracted manually if you know how to decompress the backup file.

@rafale77 - I'm so sorry for my delayed response. I didn't get the alert in my inbox (or blew past it).
I will look in to this. I have previously read your migration instructions but, the last I checked, the security key part was omitted. I'm still willing to wait out Vera/Ezlo but I'm nervous that I can't get a replacement controller. If this thing dies, I need another move.
I'll revert back with questions but I remember the guide being very well thought out. Glad to see this community coming together over here.
Thanks gain.
