I'm no longer a PLEG user !

Been using PLEG for about 8 or 9 years, I had 100 Conditions / Actions in PLEG, these are now all disabled and I've recreated them on MSR.
Still learning MSR and how to do somethings but everything I was doing in PLEG was fairly easy to convert over to MSR once I found my feet a bit and got going.
Thanks to everyone who answered any of my questions along the way when I got stuck.
I have some Vera scenes I'd like to also convert to MSR, so not quite done yet.

Yes, PLEG, I'm told, was good in its day, but rather of its time (and its author Richard.) A bit Marmite-like (that's Vegemite for @Black-Cat, IIRC) you either loved it or hated it. The other options (AltUI workflows, Rules Engine, ...) also had their adherents. But that was then, and this is now. I trust that MSR will serve you at least as long.

PLEG deserves every bit of the ample respect it gets. Vera could not have survived without it. Yes, it could be quirky and hard to learn, but it delivered a lot of functionality to platform that desperately needed it. I view Reactor as a different way of doing things. Chocolate vs Strawberry at the ice cream counter: you may only like one, but life could certainly be duller without the choice of both. In a way, PLEG (and possibly later Reactor) may have held Vera back, which I've said often: had PLEG not been there, Vera would have faced considerably more pressure to do something themselves, and maybe succeeded, or failed harder earlier.
But it is time to look to the future.

Yes PLEG wasn't the easiest thing to learn but it did save Vera. Powerful but not so user friendly. The conditions were the hardest part as you wrote them all out like expressions. Bulletproof though, I rarely had any issues with it. I skipped the whole Reactor for Vera thing, converted now so better late than never I guess.
