Bridge openLuup to openLuup

Trying to bridge openLuup with another openLuup using Verabridge and getting no Vera. Is this the correct way of linking the two?
-
Yes, but you need to change the bridge’s
RemotePort
Variable from/port_3480
to:3480
.You also need a really good reason to bridge two openLuup instances, so I’m interest in what that might be!
-
Yeah me too... what would be the application?
-
Ok - may have misunderstood ; )
New pi/openluup/zway is set up and has replaced vera. My central openLuup which used to bridge to the old vera is now wanting to connect to the new setup ...
-
Then I guess the question is, what not use the openLuup on the pi as your central openLuup?

Ah, no, that would be me, and it's an ongoing situation...
- You have installed the Zwave.me server software on a RPi with UZB, or on a Razberry?
- You have also installed (another) openLuup instance on that same machine?
- You have a 'central' openLuup instance somewhere(else) already?
- You want to link that central openLuup to Zwave.me server?
- You installed the ZWay plugin in one or other of your openLuups ...?
YES or NO to the above list, plus any more explanatory notes, might help me to unpick this. Thanks!

For peace of mind regarding backups (taking physical copies) we have a 'central' openLuup with three verabridges. One of these veras is now being replaced with pi + UZB + zwave.me server + openLuup + Zway plugin.
-
Ohh and why not remove the openLuup on the pi and instead put the z-way bridge on the central openLuup?
-
Would love to do that if allowed?
-
you can setup your z-way bridge on the central openLuup exactly like the one you have on the Pi. That should also remove some latency since your are taking out a communication layer. Nothing should prevent you from doing that. In fact that's how I transitioned from one controller to the other. Your pi should therefore just be running z-way.
Actually at the end I even move z-way to the same machine as the central openLuup making my equivalent of the rPi just a UZB and zigbee host sending its data to the controllers at the central machine using ser2net/socat. -
Had a slight hiccup yesterday - 'end kernel panic - not syncing: attempted to kill init'. Have reinstalled and back up to speed. Just would like to confirm - when I had zway bridge installed previously I seem to remember the bridge using device numbers in the 10000 range. One of the verabridges in 'openLuup central' also uses this range - should I change the parameter in verabridge to another range before I install zway bridge?
-
No, absolutely not. This variable looks after itself. The new ZWay bridge will spot the presence of the existing VeraBridge(s) and allocate a block of device numbers which does not conflict. With three VeraBridges, the next free block should be in the 40000 range.

Bingo! It is done. Huge thanks guys.

Excellent!
