Sensative Strip showing two instances in Vera.
-
I have a Sensative strip that is in Vera twice. Each one has a different Device number and ID. Have tried to delete one and it will not go away. How can I remove one without loosing the other?
This is what this device looks like on Z-way
I have a handful of them and had great grief with how the vera zwave management wiped out its battery to 20-25% of its rated lifetime. Alright I digress.
The inclusion process of this device was broken on later vera firmwares so I don't know whether you included it only recently. What broke is the fact that the firmware on these strips require for the controller to get out of inclusion mode and start a number of configuration steps for the device to save its new HomeID and DeviceID. The vera has just become too slow or is too busy having fun maintaining itself most of the time and fail the inclusion process even though it thinks it completed it. The strip will not have saved it's new network.
To be sure, can you post the attribute screens of your 2 devices on the UI? This device only has one z-wave instance and therefore should not have any child devices. -
What info are you looking for? CW-KID is helping me on Ezlo forum. maybe I shouldn't have posted in both boards.
BTW, this strip is my oldest one and has been in Vera for a few years, though I may have lost and re-added it last time I had to replace my Bricked Vera Plus. The rest of my Sensative produces ate showing 100% battery and only one instance of each device. This one is down to 75% so that is causing concern, otherwise I would just ignor the second instance. -
This is rather strange. Not sure why you would have 2 devices. Is the vera updating both when you trip/untrip the sensor?
I am trying to see if one is a child of the other or if one is just a ghost device which is registered in the vera z-wave chip during a failed inclusion as I described above and the other came from a previous successful inclusion. -
It is a sign that the device record is in the vera's zwave chip and not only in the vera user-data file. Sorry it's been a while now since I've dealt with a vera UI but I thought there was a way to irreversibly delete a device. Maybe from the advanced/zwave menu?
