BTW I found out that the Google also a new API for their cameras. Has anyone tried to integrate the Nest Doorbell (or another Nest cam) in openluup?

Only took me 7 months (plus one productive morning!) to fix. Turned out not to be a Sonos problem, but will leave here under Hardware > Sonos just in case others find themselves similarly afflicted.

"Hi, I'm Troy McClure, famous from such posts as 'How to Send Data to Google Sheets from Rule Machine', and 'Creating Zero-CSS Animated SVG Backgrounds for Hubitat Dashboard Tiles Using Hidden iFrames', and other esoteric topics nobody wants to read."
But srsly, I did expect more response when I recently released my very first full-fledged HE Device Driver which pits you against an AI bot in the game of TicTacToe on a gameboard created out of 12 button Tiles. 😉

@toggledbits sure won't miss my MSR antics, but I do! What's the point of beta testing if you cannot first crush the everlivin' life out of something while probing its deepest, darkest recesses.

Indeed, first thing I inquired about after joining HE Forum a few years back was "Can this thing tie in with X10?" (A: Yes and, more pointedly, no.)

I would love to visit here more often, but must confess you guys are so awesome you've left me nothing to BREAK!

I have got mainly hue bulbs around the house, apart from a couple of places where it wasn't practical or pretty enough.

In those cases I put in sonoff in line switches so I can control them remotely. But now I'm wanting to further upgrade by replacing most of my light switches with Hue Tap dials (and add some fittings in where I tend to not want lots of light, but will need it some time). Then I can easily switch between different profiles and have guests do the same.

Does anyone know if I can get a replacement for the sonoffs that can be recognised in Hue so that I can control it with the Tap Dials?

Or alternatively any good alternatives to replacing the light switches with smart controllers?

    Thanks

@PerH said in Docker container for Z-Way:

Its been a while since i've used this now, I've moved to Z-WaveJS..
Socat - so you have a remote connection to your z-stick? Should work fine with this contatiner, just set it up in the docker-compose file.
That said, I would ask on the z-way forum, you may find a more current z-way version in a newer container..

All settings should be persistent if volumes are set up correctly.

I don't have a remote connection yet, I'm preparing for the migration from Vera to Z-way. I wanted to nuke the Vera and use it as a central hub for my Z-way stick.

From what I've read, Socat will not work in combination with docker. The Ser2net/ Socat solution is giving me a headache with the preparation alone. It is difficult with docker, so it seems, unless you create a docker specifically with Socat in it. But creating docker images is not a skill I possess (yet).

Unlike others in this thread, I'm a fan of docker containers. (Easier to maintain, troubleshoot and keep up-to-date). But Socat is a show stopper for now.

I think I'll ditch the Vera Edge and Z-way docker. I'm looking at using a Raspberry Pi with USB/IP (can't easily install this on the Vera) now instead of Ser2net/Socat and running the Z-way addon for HA.

  • Z-Uno is the first and only easy to use developer board that allows you to create your own Z-Wave device without deep knowledge of Z-Wave protocol or programming. Z-Uno is a mix of Z-Wave home automation radio protocol power and Arduino simplicity.

These are great not just for sensors, but also to ZWave-ify existing equipment in cases where a simple dry relay ZWave switch won't cut it. I had a few motorized transom windows with IR remotes, that can also be controlled through some weird industrial serial protocol. I build controllers for them using ZUNO boards, so I can now control the windows through OpenLuup.

This application note shows how to add the Secure (previously Hortsmann) Wall Thermostat and Boiler receiver to a Z-Wave network so they can be controlled by other devices and Z-Wave scenes.

That thing is super sensitive. I was having a glass of wine and just leaving the glass next to it made it turn red and set an alarm for high VOC... It could be used as a breathalizer...

    @black-cat No that's helpful thanks.

I shall grab one. I need a new light fitting anyway so probably some kind of connector

    Thanks

@archers This is perfect for our greenhouse I'm building right now!
I ordered a Sonoff Dual R3 for heating/cooling fan and lightning control, temp/humidity sensor for visual display and automation/remote readings and a couple of Mi Flora to feed info in to the irrigation system, thanks for sharing!

Just bought a Shelly Button 1. These things are tiny, and absolutely beautiful. Trying this out as a remote switch stuck to the wall in a place where I simply can't get any power line and use a regular Shelly ix3.

For me the button does nothing. Very odd. Not sure why you're getting this issue 😞

I'm doing something similar. Using FullyKiosk, TheHomeRemote and Dakboard running on a Kindle FIre 8HD. Using a MakesByMike mount as well. My wife let me "upgrade" our wall decor to be a bit more functional 😁

    @sender

It's a bit smarter than that... it requires other conditions to be met... like having broken geofence within a certain time and not having open any door yet.

@dest You connect the constant 12/24V power supply + to P and - to GND on the Fibaro. Also connect + on the PSU to + on the LED strip.
Then you connect the OUTnn to the corresponding pins on the RBG LED strip.

    rgbw connect.jpg

If you do not want any switches INnn on the Fibaro should unconnected.

My three (not four as I wrote above, sorry) set of LEDs in the kitchen are connected according to this diagram, perhaps it can be of some use. Note that the LED strip in my case is a white one that only requires one "OUT" connection to the Fibaro.
Also note that on the older Fibaro version that I have "OUTnn" were named R, G, B and W.
The diagram is in Swedish, but I hope it makes sense anyway. 🙂

@rafale77 I can't make it delivered to Canada! I'm already having a DSC alarm system with a couple of smoke detector, I think I will just add some more and keep them on DSC.

I already have the plugin for DSC -> vera -> openLuup!

I don't have curtains (new, modern house, so zero classic curtains), and I don't use HA anymore, but it seems there are not public API for curtains. try to ping SwitchBot directly and ask for guidance.
