Logon screen timeout
G
Noticing since 170 that the lock screen doesn't switch to the logon prompt but, rather, stays on the active UI until such time as you go to click something within it. Then it jumps to the login screen. Brave browser Brave 1.92.139 (Official Build) (arm64) Chromium: 150.0.7871.114

Reactor (Multi-System/Multi-Hub) Announcements
toggledbitsT
Build 21228 has been released. Docker images available from DockerHub as usual, and bare-metal packages here. Home Assistant up to version 2021.8.6 supported; the online version of the manual will now state the current supported versions; Fix an error in OWMWeatherController that could cause it to stop updating; Unify the approach to entity filtering on all hub interface classes (controllers); this works for device entities only; it may be extended to other entities later; Improve error detail in messages for EzloController during auth phase; Add isRuleSet() and isRuleEnabled() functions to expressions extensions; Implement set action for lock and passage capabilities (makes them more easily scriptable in some cases); Fix a place in the UI where 24-hour time was not being displayed.

[MSR] Copy&past of actions and/or drag&drop between set/reset
therealdbT
Hey @toggledbits One thing that bothers me while doing work on new systems/new features, is that I cannot copy&paste actions, and I cannot drag&drop between set and resets. #1 is for when I want to copy an action between different rules opened in two separate browser windows, while #2 is when I just need to flip a bunch of actions in the reset, or move some logic back and forth. Both will be appreciated, but I understand the technical challenges. Thanks!

Upgrade advice - upgrade from aarch64 to ARM64 image
T
I'm currently on version 26011. I understand that the aarch64 image is no longer supported. So, I therefore need to update to the ARM64 image. Can anyone possibly suggest how I update my docker compose.yaml file (see below). Ideally I'd like to keep my existing reactions etc. rather than start from scratch. # Multi-System Reactor template docker-compose.yml (version 22160) # # Change the lines indicated by "DO"... # services: reactor: container_name: reactor environment: # DO change the TZ: line to set your local time zone. # See valid TZ list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tz_database_time_zones TZ: GB # # DO NOT change this path. Your directory location is in "source" below. Deprecation Announcement: 32-bit ARM *docker* images
toggledbitsT
If you are using the armv7l docker image, the OpenJS Foundation that publishes node is no longer producing 32-bit builds as of v24. That means the last supported LTS version of node for armv7l is v22, which will go End-of-Life in May 2027. Therefore, the Reactor armv7l image is now deprecated and will only be produced until node v22 goes EOL, and I will not publish armv7l images beyond that date. If you are running an RPi 3 or earlier with Reactor, you are on this image, and will need to upgrade hardware to a 64-bit model and use the arm64 image. If you need help getting it done, ask in this category.

http request action & digest auth
tunnusT
I’m using the HTTP Request action in MSR and need to authenticate against an endpoint that uses HTTP Digest authentication. Now that endpoint was changed to use SHA-256 in digest auth, so I would like to know if MSR supports it, or is it limited to MD5-based digest auth?

Integrations and 'Loaded'
CatmanV2C
Thanks again for the recent release. One thing I wanted to ask about integrations and their 'loaded' condition: Is there something similar that applies to the entire controller? So if I have (for example) a helper in HA that is used to trigger an automation in MSR, is it possible to effectively exclude it until MSR is 'happy' that HA is stable and its values can be trusted? This, actually goes back to the issue I had. I've got a use case where a 30 second delay from triggering is a bit of a PITA (sustained for...) and was just wondering if there's a way of knowing that 'native' HA functions are working correctly. Probably asking wrong, or it's hideously obvious, but... TIA C

Possible mismatch between binary_sensor in HA and MSR
CatmanV2C
Hi. First off this is an unsupported version of HS 2026.5.2 so happy to be told it's that. Currently running latest-26130-3d2a489a on a Debian Buster bare metal VM. I've been working on moving away from OpenLuup completely and up until now have been using some virtual switches t manage things like 'Is there anyone home' I have a binary sensor in HA that provides the same thing binary_sensor.someone_home which appears in MSR as hass>binary_sensor_someone_home HA shows on or off. MSR shows true or false All fine. The odd thing happened after an update of HA and a restart. From HA 13:07:04 it turned off 13:07:11 it turned on However that does not appear to have been reflected in MSR which turned all the heating and so on off as it is supposed to do, and I got all my notifications as I should. Here's a huge log section (sorry) as I wanted to show how MSR identifies that HA is up and running at 12:07:08 (Zulu) but triggers the 'There's no one here' at 12:07:17 some 6 seconds after HA updated to on. Checking in the interface MSR said the status was 'False' while HA stated 'On' I need a handful of victims volunteers to help test previews of the next build of Reactor. A long-standing request was for "a simple login mechanism," but in practice, adding user authentication and competent access control turned out to be a pretty big project with a lot of big changes on both server and client sides. It's a bit more than I'm comfortable testing myself and springing out to everyone at once, so I'd like to work with a small group to put it through "sea trials."

    Major changes/features include:

    • User authentication with hashed password storage;
    • User group configuration with application restriction (admin, dashboard, API);
    • Detailed control over API access, with user- and token-based authentication/authorization;
    • Improvements to the HTTPS service;
    • Improvements to UI coordination with the core for Rules and Reactions.

    If this sounds like something you'd like to help with, drop me a reply here in this thread or privately.

    Author of Multi-system Reactor and Reactor, DelayLight, Switchboard, and about a dozen other plugins that run on Vera and openLuup.

                    OK. A build with user authentication is now up on the download server (and dockerhub for docker users). The branch for this test is called userauth (as opposed to latest).

                    Bare-metal users will have the easiest time installing, because you just need to download the userauth package instead of the latest package, and then install/update as usual.

                    Docker users will likely find it harder to make this switch. If you are using docker-compose, you can just change the image name in your config file from latest to userauth; then update (docker-compose pull) and start. But for NAS users and those not using docker-compose, you will need to rebuild your container. You can keep your configs and storage data; just make sure your new container points to the same directory where all that's stored (everything in the container configuration should be the same).

See the installation instructions for reference, and look at/capture the settings of your current container before you launch into rebuilding it with the new image.

                      @toggledbits am getting Not Found at http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8111/reactor/en-US/login.html

                      Steps taken:

                      • Installed 24115
                      • Received alert to later build and realized I sorted in the wrong direction at \download - resorted, installed 24117
                      • Copied user.yaml-dist to \config
                      • Cleared browser cache
                      • Restarted Reactor - nada change other than version to userauth-24117-9f164e8f
                      • Renamed user.yaml-dist to user.yaml in \config
                      • Cleared browser cache
                      • Restarted Reactor
                      • Not Found at http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8111/reactor/en-US/login.html
                      • Confirmed version running is userauth-24117-9f164e8f

                      I know it's something simple I missed - others would have caught this sooner if it were on MSRs side.

                      EDIT: Ok, a weird thing: my API calls via Reactions out to two different wx systems returned null until I rolled back to latest-24115-55b591da

                          @toggledbits, I'm having a similar issue as @gwp1 but mine is one step more complicated. I am using cloudflare add on on Home Assistant (on a separate server) for access to my server remotely, which serves the SSL connection, so even if the page is http, it'll serve it up as https. What would I need to do in order to make this work in my situation?

                          Edit: For clarification on my question I did create a reactor.crt and reactor.key file, switched the base url and added the lines to the reactor.yaml file. I am also getting the Not Found error, running 24117. The more complicated step will involve Cloudflare, but it may just be as simple as getting the local setup done first.

                          Edit 2: Okay, Cloudflare isn't an issue. I read what was said about renaming the users.yaml file to something else, and once I did that, the Not Found error went way. I just can't get the login page to serve up. My https connection is working fine.

                            Looking in the logs, looks like the login.html page is missing from the path.

                              I looked in the tar.gz file on my desktop, and I'm not seeing the login.html in the reactorui directory. That seems the to be the source of the issue.

                                @toggledbits,
                                So something is also going on with running reactions with the autoversion. They are hanging and not running. Immediately after restarting, the reactions run, however, within a few minutes, those reactions are hanging.

                                Screenshot 2024-04-28 at 5.42.09 AM.png

                                I even tried manually going into one of the rules (a simple rule for turning on a light) and ran the reaction, and it's not working.

                                I reverted back to the "lastest" release, and the automations are working again.

                                  I'm running this in my house, not seeing any issues. The engine is the same for 24115 and userauth; they are completely in sync except for the required elements to support user authentication, which has nothing to do with reaction. Still, anything is possible, but I wouldn't be able to discern much without the usual rules still applying: when things aren't going as expected, look at the logs... follow the posting guidelines...

                                    @toggledbits,
                                    Thanks for the updated version. I'll test it this evening after work.

                                    I was only able to provide limited diagnostic information this morning before I headed to work. Reverting to 24115 latest version fixed the immediate issue of reactions not functioning, so everything would function normally while I was gone for the day.

                                    If the reactions continue to hang with the revised version, I'll provide more detailed information and logs this evening.

                                      @therealdb the fixed build I just put up (to include the missing HTML file) also includes a potential fix for VirtualEntityController to preserve attributes across upgrades. Let's see how it works out.

                                        @toggledbits I have not done that yet. One step at a time 🙂 The Not found issue has been resolved with your latest build and Access Control is WAE. The Reactions issue I noted has also not reappeared.

                                        I have noticed that the TOOLS>Restart Reactor button does not work and I see nothing in the logs whatsoever even after "elevator button-ing" it (press press press press press press press).

                                          I have noticed that the TOOLS>Restart Reactor button does not work and I see nothing in the logs whatsoever even after "elevator button-ing" it (press press press press press press press).

                                          Make sure you've done a hard refresh on the browser to ensure that it has loaded all the latest files for the UI.

                                          Failing that, hit F12 (usually) in your browser to open a Developer window, and then hit the Restart button and see if anything gets logged on the browser side.
