Upgrade advice - upgrade from aarch64 to ARM64 image
T
I'm currently on version 26011. I understand that the aarch64 image is no longer supported. So, I therefore need to update to the ARM64 image. Can anyone possibly suggest how I update my docker compose.yaml file (see below). Ideally I'd like to keep my existing reactions etc. rather than start from scratch. # Multi-System Reactor template docker-compose.yml (version 22160) # # Change the lines indicated by "DO"... # services: reactor: container_name: reactor environment: # DO change the TZ: line to set your local time zone. # See valid TZ list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tz_database_time_zones TZ: GB # # DO NOT change this path. Your directory location is in "source" below. REACTOR_DATA_PREFIX: /var/reactor # DO change the image below to the one you are using (e.g. armv7l or aarch64 for RPi 4) image: toggledbits/reactor:latest-aarch64 restart: "always" expose: - 8111 ports: - 8111:8111 volumes: # DO change the /home/username/reactor below to the directory you created for # your local data; DO NOT change the /var/reactor part - /home/pi/docker/reactor:/var/reactor - /etc/localtime:/etc/localtime:ro tmpfs: /tmp

[MSR] Copy&past of actions and/or drag&drop between set/reset
therealdbT
Hey @toggledbits One thing that bothers me while doing work on new systems/new features, is that I cannot copy&paste actions, and I cannot drag&drop between set and resets. #1 is for when I want to copy an action between different rules opened in two separate browser windows, while #2 is when I just need to flip a bunch of actions in the reset, or move some logic back and forth. Both will be appreciated, but I understand the technical challenges. Thanks!

Reactor (Multi-System/Multi-Hub) Announcements
toggledbitsT
Build 21228 has been released. Docker images available from DockerHub as usual, and bare-metal packages here. Home Assistant up to version 2021.8.6 supported; the online version of the manual will now state the current supported versions; Fix an error in OWMWeatherController that could cause it to stop updating; Unify the approach to entity filtering on all hub interface classes (controllers); this works for device entities only; it may be extended to other entities later; Improve error detail in messages for EzloController during auth phase; Add isRuleSet() and isRuleEnabled() functions to expressions extensions; Implement set action for lock and passage capabilities (makes them more easily scriptable in some cases); Fix a place in the UI where 24-hour time was not being displayed.

Deprecation Announcement: 32-bit ARM *docker* images
toggledbitsT
If you are using the armv7l docker image, the OpenJS Foundation that publishes node is no longer producing 32-bit builds as of v24. That means the last supported LTS version of node for armv7l is v22, which will go End-of-Life in May 2027. Therefore, the Reactor armv7l image is now deprecated and will only be produced until node v22 goes EOL, and I will not publish armv7l images beyond that date. If you are running an RPi 3 or earlier with Reactor, you are on this image, and will need to upgrade hardware to a 64-bit model and use the arm64 image. If you need help getting it done, ask in this category.

http request action & digest auth
tunnusT
I’m using the HTTP Request action in MSR and need to authenticate against an endpoint that uses HTTP Digest authentication. Now that endpoint was changed to use SHA-256 in digest auth, so I would like to know if MSR supports it, or is it limited to MD5-based digest auth?

Integrations and 'Loaded'
CatmanV2C
Thanks again for the recent release. One thing I wanted to ask about integrations and their 'loaded' condition: Is there something similar that applies to the entire controller? So if I have (for example) a helper in HA that is used to trigger an automation in MSR, is it possible to effectively exclude it until MSR is 'happy' that HA is stable and its values can be trusted? This, actually goes back to the issue I had. I've got a use case where a 30 second delay from triggering is a bit of a PITA (sustained for...) and was just wondering if there's a way of knowing that 'native' HA functions are working correctly. Probably asking wrong, or it's hideously obvious, but... TIA C

Possible mismatch between binary_sensor in HA and MSR
CatmanV2C
Hi. First off this is an unsupported version of HS 2026.5.2 so happy to be told it's that. Currently running latest-26130-3d2a489a on a Debian Buster bare metal VM. I've been working on moving away from OpenLuup completely and up until now have been using some virtual switches t manage things like 'Is there anyone home' I have a binary sensor in HA that provides the same thing binary_sensor.someone_home which appears in MSR as hass>binary_sensor_someone_home HA shows on or off. MSR shows true or false All fine. The odd thing happened after an update of HA and a restart. From HA 13:07:04 it turned off 13:07:11 it turned on However that does not appear to have been reflected in MSR which turned all the heating and so on off as it is supposed to do, and I got all my notifications as I should. Here's a huge log section (sorry) as I wanted to show how MSR identifies that HA is up and running at 12:07:08 (Zulu) but triggers the 'There's no one here' at 12:07:17 some 6 seconds after HA updated to on. Checking in the interface MSR said the status was 'False' while HA stated 'On' Reactor build 26116: empty group reaction
therealdbT
I have a couple of rules that has group reactions with empty conditions. I notice, in particular on one that's called every 5 secs, that it was not working. I added an empty comment as condition and it started working again. I don't know if saving was enough to "reset" it, but I'm reporting anyway. No errors in the logs, but the MQTT message was not published, so I had an easy path to check the rule. I have others like these, but not easy to test. @toggledbits maybe some stuck status data? (I restarted a couple of times after the last update). Thanks.

    Hi

Wanted to create a rule for monitoring the battery level of Z-Wave devices on my Vera hub.

I can select the battery level as the trigger OK.

But not sure how to handle the Reaction to send an alert / notification ?

If in the triggers I have multiple devices monitored for their battery level

    39a2f0af-c2e4-450b-a1ce-f542df31d02d-image.png

How could I create say a TTS announcement or text alert that mentions the name of the device who's battery level has dropped below 10% ? The device that has triggered the rule.

I'd rather not have to create an individual rule for each device etc.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

@cw-kid One of my to-do list tasks for expressions is to be able to create a list of devices that match a test. Until that comes, you can just build your own array of battery-operated devices like this (lets call this battery_device_list) :

      35882eb5-310f-41b1-a95e-eaf52dbc0bb8-image.png

Then, you can reduce that list to all of the devices that have battery < 10%:

      c108f634-1ad1-4156-9e47-777c98c9d69b-image.png

That leaves you with an array of the entities that have low battery. Use another expression to convert that into a comma-separated list of entity names:

      30ca5615-71c3-431e-b83f-d0aeff6144e4-image.png

Your rule just checks to see if that battery_low_names (a string now) expression is not empty, and runs whatever notifications you want to run if it is not. You can include the battery_low_names variable in the text of your email or other notification, too.

        @toggledbits

Thanks for the detailed reply. I will try and follow your suggestions.

So would these expressions be Global ones? Or ones within the rule?

Also as you don't natively support Telegram messenger I am not sure how I could insert the name of the device in to a HTTP request.

Its working I think, I set up the expressions as Global ones.

And my rules trigger is Expression value > battery_low_names > is NOT Null

          88f00746-2387-45d9-b197-3029e1cf93a7-image.png

As a test I have used the MSR internal Alert in the rules reaction

          651065f5-98a1-4751-bc8e-ccf60f895bb7-image.png

But I don't think I can insert ${{ battery_low_names }} in to a HTTP request for either Telegram messenger or TTS to Google Home speaker via Node-Red etc.

This works for me - having previously set up the accounts at CallMeBot.

            0a99cf60-e93a-4b35-b498-3c47af3ce7e1-image.png

            The Request URL is: http://api.callmebot.com/text.php?source=web&user=@username&text=${{message}}

It just sends a text that is the content of message.

              @ian

Ian many thanks that is actually working for both of my HTTP requests.

So now the Google Home Speakers says "Check Battery Level of X device name" and the Telegram text message also works stating the same.

              Cheers

I seem to have a problem with my trigger however

                905686d6-d0dc-4f28-ae27-37fb5b167683-image.png

Its triggering the reaction when I don't want it to do so.

I need to make the value of the expression "battery_low_names" null when no devices are below the battery level of 10% etc.

I've tried adding in a ? in to the expression but it doesn't seem to be working

                join( each id in battery_low_list: getEntity(id)?.name, ', ')

                EDIT:

This seems to work instead adding "? id: null" to the end of the expression.

                join( each id in battery_low_list: getEntity(id).name, ', ') ? id: null

                EDIT 2:

Maybe it doesn't work because now its not putting in the devices name in the expression value

                8ff5e855-5f1d-470f-8ca7-d4542728abf5-image.png

                EDIT 3:

I then tried changing the trigger altogether to this, but it doesn't work and becomes true anyway.

This goes true when battery_low_names is populated with the names of the devices with low battery levels.

                    That works !

                    Easy when you know how..

The trigger is now going false when no devices are in the battery_low_names expression results.

How can I make this rule re-trigger ?

Say I don't immediate go replace the battery on the device mentioned, can I have the rule run the alerts / notifications each day or week until I have done it and changed the batteries ?

Also can the alerts also state what the battery level percentage actually is ?

                          Thanks

Wrap the condition in a group and put the group in "pulse" output mode with the timing you want.

Thanks Ian that works, my Telegram text message now has the number% at the end of the message now.

However this messes up the Google Home TTS announcement sent via node-red, if I have a "%" in the expression. So I had to change it to the word "percent" instead and now the TTS sounds correct when spoken.

Still on the to-do list, but I think I'm close to figuring out what I want it to do. These things get harder with time: the more people use them, the more etched in stone they become, so making a "first guess" and completely changing things later isn't really something I want to do a lot of. If I can get something good on the first try, that's the way...

                                      Here's what I'm thinking...

First, the matchEntities() function would quickly narrow down the set, in a manner similar to the filters on the Entities page and the Entity Picker:

                                          living_room_sensors = matchEntities( { controller: 'vera', capability: [ 'binary_sensor', 'value_sensor'' ], group: 'Living Room' } )

This would return an array of entities. From here, you could use an each statement to further filter any deep refinements. This expression would take the above array of sensors in the Living Room and pick out those that are battery powered and have battery level under 50%:

                                          low_battery_living_room = each e in living_room_sensors: e.attributes.battery_power?.level <= 0.5 ? e : null

I'm liking this approach because the function could do the bulk reduction of potential hundreds of entities down to a manageable list, and then the final filtering of the list can be done with expressions for maximum flexibility.

                                      Any thoughts about that?

@toggledbits That would do it for me, is the matchEntities() function already available in Expressions? I get no error but no matter what I do the Expression always returns an empty array.
I'd expect this to contain at least something:

                                        matchEntities( { controller: 'vera', capability: 'humidity_sensor' } )

                                          No, it's not yet available.
