Network Key Location

  • Useful for migration from a vera zwave network to z-way.
Find the vera's S0 network key, close the z-way-server and input the key into the
z-way-server/config/zddx/homeid-DeviceData.xml line 147 at the end of the line networkKey replacing the one z-way created by default when you loaded your uzb on it for the first time.
(replace homeid with your homeid after you already migrated the dongle data from the vera to the uzb and already booted z-way at least once)

  • How do I get the Vera's S0 network key?
    |-<:)

  • @prophead

SSH into the vera and do

    hexdump /etc/cmh/keys

The first 16 bytes in hex should be your zwave S0 key.

  • just to be sure, thats the first 8 pairs or first 16 alphadigits?

  • no it's first 16 pairs of Hex bytes.

  • Just to be really really sure 🙂 I have something like this:

0000000 XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX
0000010 XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX
0000020 XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX
    0000030

Should I get the first 16 xxxx, considering xxxx as a pair? Thanks!

  • Edit: I read and reponded too fast the first time.

    It is the first line.
    1 byte = 8 bit = 2 Hex characters.
Thus the hex pair. English is so confusing for this.

So it is only the first line which contains 16 Hex Pairs or the first 16 Bytes. This file contains 48 pairs. or 48 bytes or 384bits
